Little preview of some stuff in the works. I'm gonna try to do a loose retake on the Siegfried stories from the Nibelungen.
And some more Space Race work.

Ship Graveyard
More alien version.
Process. Crappy modeling but it was only to base the painting off of something.
I also used some pictures I took here in Germany and Austria.

Finals
Here are some of my finals for this semester. The environment concept is for a dark Mirror's edge type gameplay in a Sci-Fi world in the alps. All the architecture is inspired by various German half timber styles, with materials and thicknesses changed up.

Colors
Loosely
based on a photo I took back home, a little over 2hrs. I was trying to
go with a very simple message of light and shadow. Started off by just
using black and white to map out those areas and make them mean
something. I really like that approach, inspired by Shaddy Safadi.
Thanks for the recommendation Sean!

Quick Environment
Created a new brush today and I actually really like it. This is a quick experiment with it.
Here is a high key variant too.

Airboarding
Spent the morning working on this. I did not do thumbnails and
you can tell by the sloppy composition (it's supposed to work in
quarters). But it was fun to make up the whole thing on the go, without
really knowing where I was going at the beginning.
This is what the kids do nowadays!

Birthday Present
I feel like all these color studies are finally starting to pay off a little, what do you think? Tried "smuggling reds" in this one and it actually enhances the picture a lot. Found that trick in James Gurneys book on Color&Light.

Visual Storytelling
Long time no post, but I'm back from winter break:
Ballpoint pen and marker sketches for Visual Storytelling class. These are environments for a near future storyline. You'll probably see a lot of good stuff for this class in the future!
